Registration Information

Prior to admission, your preliminary arrangements are made for any necessary tests or outpatient treatment. Our admitting personnel will interview you and required medical and legal forms will be completed.

Patients are responsible for all financial liabilities including co-payments, deductibles and out-of-pocket expenses at the time of registration or before being discharged from the hospital. If the exact dollar amount has not been determined, you will be billed an estimated amount. Please contact the hospital's financial counselor at extension 3670 if you are unable to make payment before registration or prior to discharge.

All payments to JFK Medical Center are treated without regard to sex, race, national origin, or religious creed. The established requirements for admission are applied to everyone without distinction.

Discharge

When it is time for your discharge from the medical center, your physician will write a discharge order. Your nurse will then arrange for a volunteer to escort you by wheelchair. The volunteer will take you to the admitting office, where all insurance information and required signatures are double checked for accuracy. You must have a family member or friend available to drive you home. During periods of high census, you may be escorted to a discharge lounge while you wait for transportation home.

Courtesy Discharge

When all patient admission and financial requirements have been met upon admission and before discharge, the patient then qualifies for a courtesy discharge from the nursing unit.
