Specialized Treatment Services

JFK Medical Center’s new behavioral health services unit is now helping to ease the critical shortage of behavioral health beds in our area. Our 31-Bed Unit will combine an environment of safety and comfort for our patients. Our program is designed to provide individualized treatment based upon each patient's clinical needs. We will provide adult acute psychiatric inpatient care and become a designated Baker Act receiving facility that will treat a wide variety of behavioral health diagnoses in a calm and soothing environment.

One program specifically provides a therapeutic environment for anxious, depressed or bipolar patients. This includes seniors suffering with acute mental health changes. Our new unit will provide our patients with both individual and group therapy programs including medication management. Our program is designed to provide quality care and stabilization for patients, in a safe secure setting utilizing a multidisciplinary team approach.

Total Care

The high quality care we provide is evident in all our treatment modalities. The psychiatrist heads the treatment team of experienced mental health professionals, including nurses, therapists, social workers, mental health technicians and occupational therapists.

Patients are individually evaluated and their needs are prioritized in order to insure they receive the necessary treatments. Patients and families are encouraged to actively participate in both the planning and implementation of the treatment.
